NOVA - How to set 3rd party scanner

Purpose

This documentation explain how to set a third party scanner on Nova software.

Standard installation (with Cares Visual installation)

  1. Open a file explorer and go in "%ProgramData%\Dental Wings\DWOS Easy\Default\conf" or D:\ProgramData\Straumann\Cares Visual Easy\Default\conf


  2. Download the following files: 3rd-party-EASY.zip

  3. UNZIP them in "%ProgramData%\Dental Wings\DWOS Easy\Default\conf" or "D:\ProgramData\Straumann\Cares Visual Easy\Default\conf" and replace the existing files.

  4. Open the file ThirdPartyScanner.xml with Notepad++ and check if the configuration is properly done.

Installation with Nova only (without Cares Visual)


  1. Open a file explorer and go in "%ProgramData%\Dental Wings\DWOS Easy\Default\conf"


  2. Download the following files: 3rd-party-EASY.zip

  3. UNZIP them in "%ProgramData%\Dental Wings\DWOS Easy\Default\conf" and replace the existing files.

  4. Open the file ThirdPartyScanner.xml with Notepad++ and check if the configuration is properly done.

  5. Create missing folders in the installation as following: \Dental Wings\DWOS Easy\Software\DWData\release\localconf\

    or \Straumann\DWOS Easy\Software\DWData\release\localconf\

  6. In DWData folder create a .bat file with notepad++ application or download it. Name this file GenericClient_x64.bat

  7. Create or download another file in the following folder DWData/release/localconf/ThirdPartyScanner.xml

  8. Set Connected Program on Cares Medit Link on the GenericClient_x64.bat
