Problem of detection

Issue:

It can happen that sometimes a i700 is not recognized by Medit Link on Dell PC (7760 for instance). This can be because the i700 is using a port that is already in use.

On Device manager, there are two items at Port (COM & LPT) and they have same port number (COM3).
Selected same port may affect to connect i700 scanner.

See below how to fix it.

How to fix:

  • Open the device manager
  • Right click on Medit Controller, choose the "Properties".

  • Select 'Port Settings' tab and 'Advanced…' button.

  • On 'COM Port Number', choose a port number not in use (8 in the screenshot). Then click on 'OK'

  • Right click on Medit Controller, choose the 'Disable Device'

  • Right click on Medit Controller again, choose the 'Enable Device'
  • Then i700 Scanner will be connected.
