Medit - Software Installation

There are two software to be installed: CARES Visual/DWOS + CARES Medit Link

CARES/DWOS Software Installation

The Installer of CARES/DWOS latest version can be downloaded from Dental Wings website: https://dentalwings.com/downloads/
Launch the software setup by double clicking on the installer file.
In the next window select your language by clicking on the arrow. Confirm your selection with “OK”.
Confirm the welcome screen with a click on “Next”.
Read the software license agreement. If you accept the terms of the agreement, select the option “I accept the terms of the License Agreement” and confirm by clicking on “Next”.
Make sure to select “Medit” as installation type and continue with “Next”.
Select the installation directory and change it for an installation made to the D: drive (in case of a customer's PC it can be installed on C:\Program Files).
Confirm with “Next”.
Choose a name for the entry into the Windows start menu folder (or leave the suggested name) and confirm with “Install”.
During the installation several windows will appear, and several applications (Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables) will be installed which are required for the software to operate. If any of the system security restrictions should block such an application, please allow the application(s) to be installed to ensure a successful software installation.
Once the progress shows “Completed” confirm with “Next”.
Complete the setup by clicking on “Finish”

Those PCs - Sold by DW/STMN have 2 partitions - do not confuse with Personal computers ( 1 partition most likely )

The Installer of CARES Medit Link latest version can be downloaded from Dental Wings website: https://dentalwings.com/downloads/
After downloading, execute the installer
In the next window select your language by clicking on the arrow. Confirm your selection with “Next”.
The software is going to check if all prerequisites needed are present. If it is not the case, click on "Next". A Windows appears with the needed package already checked. Click on "Next" again.

ALWAYS Install on D: drive: D:/Medit/Cares Medit Link
Make sure the cable of the scanner is disconnected
Wait until the installation is over
Start the Cares Medit Link software and follow the configuration procedure: Medit - Software configuration

After downloading, execute the installer
In the next window select your language by clicking on the arrow. Confirm your selection with “Next”.
The software is going to check if all prerequisites needed are present. If it is not the case, click on "Next". A Windows appears with the needed package already checked. Click on "Next" again.

Choose an installation folder (Do not install at the root of the C:/ drive) but anywhere else is okay on the C Drive
you can install for example at: C:/Program files/...
Make sure the cable of the scanner is disconnected
Wait until the installation is over
Go in the CARES/DWOS installation folder (...\Straumann\Cares Visual\DWData\release\localconf)
Edit the ThirdPartyScanner.XML file
Change the installation folder of Medit software accordingly to the current installation (here in C:\Program Files\Medit\CARES Medit Link\Medit Link)
Save the change
Start the Cares Medit Link software and follow the configuration procedure: Medit - Software configuration
